those of you who’ve been watching for a long time I think you know that I really like beer are you going to be in Japan in the summer well 2024 is expected to be Japan’s hottest summer yet but I’m going to be showing you guys some great ways to enjoy the summer and make the most of it by taking you to some amazing beer and barbecue Gardens where you can get fun summer Vibes cold refreshing drinks and of course really good Tokyo eats before we go don’t forget to subcribe for more Japan Adventures let’s [Music] go beer gardens pop up all across Japan especially in Tokyo in the summer months and they’re a great way to cool off and relax in the summer with a nice icy cold beer and really fun Vibes with friends and family our first beer garden of the day is located at a historic site not too far from ayama ich station and it really is an unusual place to have a beer garden so I’m very interested to check it out so I cannot wait to see what this very unique beer garden is going to be like let’s go check it [Music] out here we are this is Magi Kenan it was originally built as the first state guest house and it has hosted many state diplomatic events but today you can actually enjoy a very fancy beer Terrace here so I cannot wait to see what that’s going to look like let’s go check it [Music] [Music] out it is so Serene so green and very spacious and if you come here the beer garden actually opens from 5:00 p.m. so you’d probably get to see some Sunset and it’s open till 10: so you can enjoy cool summer evening Vibes at nighttime just so unbelievably relaxing [Music] oh wow this is so beautiful it’s using these Japanese masu which are wooden boxes that are used to drink Sake usually at special celebrations and it has some seasonal Foods in here so I’m going to open it up [Music] I want to try this grilled macal Sushi this is a very seasonal food and I think it’s inspired by the traditional Kyoto pressed sushi in Kyoto style the sushi is not fresh and raw like they make it in Tokyo because they weren’t close to a body of water so they used a more preserved style of fish using vinegar and salt so this is a great summer food definitely definely try it if you’re here in the summer time M I love that M really like the taste of summer for me it doesn’t even need soy sauce it has that much flavor [Music] wow that looks really good I really love a good craft beer I don’t know if you know this maybe you do those of you who’ve been watching for a long time I think you know that I really like beer and Tokyo has a lot of good craft beers nowadays including this one so it’s a pale ale it almost reminds me of like an Amber ale um little hints of subtle hoppy bitterness but still very light and refreshing I love it I love that it’s a bit warmer and I ordered this because I think it would go well with my roast beef all right let’s give this a try the roast beef looks amazing it’s made with Japanese beef of course going to dip it in the sauce M the meaty red part of it is very rich um and it’s got quite a few kind of bigger chunks of fat which adds a little bit of this creaminess to the meat it kind of balance a creamy sweetness to the meat and I think it goes well with this beer let’s see it’s got just enough of like a deeper flavor that it matches kind of the sauce and that rich meaty flavor really wonderful let’s try one of our fancy dishes that are served in Japanese masu boxes oh this looks so delicious it looks a little bit spicy actually I’m just going to eat this whole bite all right so sesan Style yod Chicken yod means drool so it’s basically so delicious that it makes you drool let’s see if it does that to me here we go if you are a lover of spicy food that is that really hits the spot it’s not that spicy but it does have this really satisfying slightly spicy sesan style taste it’s very tasty it’s refreshing spicy delicious and it makes me want to kind of wash down some of this spice a little bit with this beer [Music] some drinks cannot wash away spice but this is not that spicy so it kind of does it’s just [Music] perfect everything that I’ve eaten here today was spectacular and it’s wonderful to be surrounded by all of this green and nature in the center of Tokyo so I’ll see you guys next in Ginza for another beer garden [Music] this is Maia Ginza and it is a luxury department store that also turns into a Beer Garden in the summertime on the rooftop so come on in and follow me they even have a little Temple which is very uncommon to see on a rooftop I think so it really makes it feel like it’s a garden and it’s a beer garden called The utaru Beer Garden which literally translates to the Beer Garden that makes you beautiful because they have a lot of nutritious food foods with high protein so I’m very excited to see what kind of foods they have and of course they’re [Music] drinks great atmosphere up here here we go it’s a three-hour course with a two and a half hour all you can drink I cannot wait to try all of this and get started on the bar Bing so let’s do this I start with the wagu beef this is very high-end Matsuzaka beef so the chef told me some tips to grill wagu beef by yourself the technique that you want to do you want to get it on high heat put your wagyu beef on the grill for 30 seconds and then you want to flip it over for another 30 to 40 seconds and then it’s ready to go that’s the best way that you can get it juicy delicious without overcooking it [Music] wagu mataza beef barbecue honestly the highest end barbecue I’ve ever done by myself all right let’s get some veggies on this Grill to add some color to the plate I’m going to just throw on some broccoli [Music] here is my barbecue plate I grilled it all by myself all this looks incredible and I cannot wait to dig in I think I’m going to have to start with the wagu to see how I did okay I’m super excited let’s try my barbecue grilled wagu beef M oh my gosh M that is incredibly juicy like super juicy there is such a wonderful balance of fat layered within the meat it just adds this like wonderful Umami and juiciness it’s so [Music] tender that is amazing for this one I’m going to try some barbecue sauce but it’s a Yu soy sauce oo oh it’s kind of a thicker sauce actually all right oh that is super meaty and the Yu that adds a really wonderful refreshing flavor to it also barbecue goes super super good with beer so I’m going to order the I think the Asahi black beer cuz that’s also I love a good stout so I’m going to get one of those all right now I have my assah black beer I think it’s go very well with barbecue let’s take a sip M that is so good but it really does taste like I’m drinking a coffee beer it’s very smooth and just delicious it’s very comforting all right now it’s time to make the sliders I’m very excited about this I’ve never really grilled a hamburger on a hot plate before to be honest um but the burgers are pre grilled I’m just going to heat it up and then I’m going to toast the bun I’m sure this is going to be super tasty all right this is looking toasty to Perfection so I’m going to take my bun oh that looks so good just slightly charred on either side I’m going to put my hamburger patty [Music] on all right here we go these are my hand grilled sliders they look so good they turn out way better than I thought they would actually with the toasty bun I think I did a good job that looks so good look at how juicy that looks M oh my gosh it’s so simple but so delicious crispy toasty bun juicy thick Patty with a little accent of pickle I like it I wouldn’t I don’t need anything more this was a delicious beer garden barbecue this is so much fun I love grilling my own food and if you guys enjoy doing that too this is a great spot to hit up but I have one more beer guid to show you guys so I’m going to finish up this food and I’ll see you guys over [Music] there here we are I’m right next to the oag Sky Tree station right underneath the iconic Tokyo Sky Tree which is Japan’s tallest tower and my next beer garden is actually located on the rooftop of the solamachi department store which is right behind me so it is a really cool place Sky tree looks stunning at night time and I can’t wait to see what this beer garden is going to be like let’s go check it out here we are this is solam much’s beer Festa 2024 it’s an annual beer garden with a relaxing camping theme as you can see behind me so they have lots of tents and you can Grill your own barbecue at your table in little camping chairs I think it looks really fun so I’m going to go to the check-in tent and let’s go Grill some barbecue and drink some beer [Music] this is really lovely I love the little hanging lights and the fact that you can see Sky Tree literally right behind you and I’m really surprised by this particular beer garden experience because you are not just grilling your own barbecue you’re actually cooking recipes and I’ve never done that before at a beer garden or any restaurant ever just a variety of different recipes Unfortunately they don’t have an English version of this website so they do have printed out English recipes for each food that you’re going to be making so I think first I’m going to start up by making this tortilla cuz it seems pretty beginner friendly it’s only one star difficulty all right I’ve got my work table set up to prepare for cooking but I just realized that I forgot to go pick up my beer so before I start cooking I’m going get some beer cuz it’s funner to cook when you have beer so let’s go get all right I’m back with my namu my draft beer and I’m ready to cook barbecue cooking experience in central Tokyo with the beer come bye so refreshing the atmosphere is so fun okay I’m going to start by grilling the chicken for some pepper mayo chicken tortilla [Music] and then while grilling place the tortilla on a paper plate and put cheese in the middle of the tortilla pour the prescribed amount of mayonnaise ketchup and onion chips over the chicken prescribed by the beer doctor I hope um my like Latino viewers are going to be proud of me for heating up the tortilla okay there we go that looks kind of cute it looks like a Tamaki vishi all right so this is my finished chicken tortilla I have no idea how this is going to be but I want to invite one of our B food staff who’s here today his name is Ken and I want him to try it with me and maybe even help me cook because I think it’s more fun with friends so come on in Ken welcome thank you yay everybody this is Ken from by food hi can you tell us a little bit about what you do at by food I do project management at by food so yeah that’s right excited to be here thank you for help me yay this is the first time Ken’s joined us Shoot actually but I would like you to try um a tortilla all right let’s try it together cheers [Music] cheim it’s good well cooked M mhm y I’m glad so very easy to make tortilla I’m happy that I heated it up I might ask you to help me with them some cooking CU we got a lot of recipes to make today would you be able to help me make some yucky SOA of course amazing I want to test 10 skills out I’m from Kai so ex from Kai [Music] how does your family make it we actually have our own family recipe really it’s like my grandma’s recipe what so she likes to put like sliced Chua oh yum I really like Chua mhm so like and put lots of sauce like our family likes the yakova sauce okay so this is finished let’s put it on the plate now all right we finished cooking thank you for making some wonderful looking yakis SOA Seafood yakis SOA Seafood yeah it looks amazing um would you say it was pretty easy to make yeah it’s it’s quite easy pretty beginner friendly I’d say even they have everything in like perfectly measured [Music] packets it’s good um it’s good but I think it does not compare to your grandmother’s EXA right totally understandable but it is very easy to make so if you guys come here definitely give it a try very easy Japanese recipe cooking [Music] experience um Ken only join me for this last beer garden today but I did check out three totally different beer gardens all 1. I'm a huge fan of beer as well ! but I know I probably wouldn't survive long in Japan during the summer 🤣 very hot and very humid I definitely prefer the fall season! 🍁

  2. I love the idea of a beer garden with Japanese grilled food! I can totally see how beer would pair well with the items shown! You've just given me inspiration on what to do on my next camping trip! I even have two butane hobs to recreate the setup of the final beer garden shown! Thanks for the inspiration, and as always, you guys have done a fantastic job! Love from Canada!

  3. Shizuka does an outstanding job in her food pairing descriptions one can almost taste what she's sampling . Her conversation is always engaging and spirited .

  4. Thank you for another inspiring video! Shizuka-san can drink!! Wow, I want to be there, I want to try all of the beers. I think my favorite episode was the one where she learned about the Japanese obsession with beer foam, and I thought it might be a joke, but no way, it was for real, and the next time I am in Tokyo I'm going to try all the different places she went to.

  5. Every time Shizuka drinks Japanese beer in a video. Me- goes to the asian store and buys Asahi or Sapporo beer 🍺 😂

  6. The second beer garden would be my pick of the three followed by the last, then the first.
Nice seeing you again Shizuka 😊

  7. Shizuka I just contacted INTERPOLE for putting mayo in your quesadilla/taco. You’ll be arrested soon, don’t try and hide.

  8. しずかさんのホスピタリティにいつも感動しています。千葉にも来て~!

  9. For people who are known for politeness and reserved the drinking customs are well balanced with decent drink, food and fun. A must visit…too bad Canadian dollar is garbage even against the affordability of the yen now.

  10. Please sister don't take alcohol be healthy be happy beet slowly slowly it will damage your health take care sister 🤌

  11. You love beer. And you know sliders too. Of course you’re Canadian. I’d love to join you. BTW did you just say skytrain. You must be from Vancouver.

  12. I saw the side of my head around the 13:57 mark. Pleasantly surprised when I was waiting in line buying beers and encountered Shizuka & her crew.

  13. OMG! It was such a fun video ❤Thank you so much for the efforts you all made ✨
