We are starting off our adventure with spending 24 hours in Tokyo and of course we had to make the most out of it because, well, its JAPAN! Everyone has their own opinions on popular destinations like this, so our goal was to jam-pack our day to get our own completely honest and raw first impressions of the city. We see some amazing traditional sites in the Asakusa area where the streets were flooded with people, and walk along the quieter streets of neighbourhoods lined with the world-famous cherry blossom trees. We even got to see the world’s tallest free standing tower – the Tokyo Skytree! And like any new destination, we had to get a taste of the culture (literally) by walking along the Tsukishima Monja Street, where our mouths watered trying authentic melonpan, takoyaki, and of course, monja, all for the first time! Lastly, no trip to Tokyo seems complete without experiencing the bright and electrifying billboards scattered all along the buildings in the Shinjuku area, leaving us awestruck and ready to give the verdict of our first impressions of Tokyo!

good morning we are coming to you live from Tokyo Japan where we are going to be giving you our first impressions of the city is it all just a hype or is it really as beautiful as people say it is so let’s check it out and we’re going to take you along for epic day let’s go I am so excited to be here this is the place that I have been excited to go to for the longest time of my life and I’m just excited to eat the food see the iconic buildings the icon Billboards the streets the busy streets I’m ready for it all bring it to me [Music] baby we haven’t even entered into the main part of the city yet we are kind of more on the outskirts and already I am seeing these gorgeous cherry blossom trees that I have dreamed my whole life to see in real life I don’t know what it is about them they’re just so magical so dreamy and this full first path that we are walking on literally has them lined all across it feels like a dream I don’t know what else to say talk about beauty you step right into Japan and you get hit with some cherry blossom trees it is gorgeous we have made it to an area or a neighborhood called asakusa and it’s a very kind of past the residential areas at least it’s a very traditional looking Japanese area where you’ve got all the different temples people there’s there hope a lot of people a lot of people have rented kimonos that they’re wearing so a lot of people are kind of getting into that traditional look to match the area and overall it’s just very busy Lively kind of everything that is what you would expect in one of these more traditional areas they’re selling things I don’t even know what’s going on I’m here for it though I like it [Music] guys when we tell you this place is busy it is absolutely packed with literally people from everywhere all around the world this is probably the place where I’ve seen the most tourist in my life but it it’s gorgeous so there’s a reason why everyone’s here after walking through the asakusa area we decided to make our exit and walk a little further into town where we saw the Tokyo Sky Tree which was this towering building that towered among everything else and the walk over there was absolutely gorgeous so my first impression of the walking sltr scene here is obviously the transit system seems pretty good so far but because we walked from the asakusa area to the Sky Tree I will say that if it is in decently close proximity from point A to B please walk please walk because just like all the different scenery uh or sceneries that you’ll see is totally worth it and obviously exercise is good like coming up to the sky tree here there’s this whole kind of grassy area with trees and I mean families are here just like having picnics people are playing there’s uh restaurants and food stalls and it’s just the little things like this that make it worth walking we’ made it to the Tokyo Sky Tree and I will say I knew it was one of the tallest buildings in the world and we actually learned that it is the tallest freestanding tower in the world pretty cool but as we were far further away like obviously it looks tall but I was like H it’s not that tall as we walk closer I swear it just got bigger and bigger and bigger and like I’m craning my neck up and I can’t even really see the full thing because it is way up in the clouds the whole building has kind of turned itself or has been turned into this whole experience where you’ve got aquarium you kind of got like a mall with the restaurants and food courts you’ve also got this whole like Tokyo Sky Tree Town this whole place is bustling with people because they’ve kind of created this whole Space where you could do a lot of things and go all the way to the top too if you really want to see the entire of Tokyo but overall it’s a it’s a cool area so we’ve got on our first train of the day and as people who haven’t used Tokyo Metro before I feel like it has been slightly confusing just because it’s different from some of the other metros that we’ve used and they don’t accept I don’t know if it’s just anyone’s or everyone’s but they don’t accept our credit card so we’ve had to dig through our cash make sure that we’re going to the right place because all the station uh station stops have different numbers correlated to them so it it’s honestly not that bad but we were getting flustered trying to figure things out because the tire were kept running it down as well but you know what at the end of the day we’re on the train it’s a pretty nice train too so can’t complain we have now arrived at sukima mja Street and it is my favorite time of our friend suppression video it’s time to eat we got right behind me a bakery store just to get a quick snack to start things off it is smelling amazing it is called what what do they say there baby okay it’s a thing called melon pan Which pan yeah I’m taking over this one yeah melon pan guys and I don’t know what melon pan is what is melon pan tell him oh now he wants to know I think it’s like some sort of pastry it looks like a croissant but I don’t know what makes a difference so we’re going to find out first yeah like I said we’re going to find out F firstand and O Let’s Dive Right [Music] In all right the moment of truth on what smells like heaven for lack of better words I got the caramel one this is what it looks like so it’s like a pastry I thought it was the croissant looking ones but it’s different I’m try it that’s good M the more you chew it the more the flavors start meling together in your mouth I think it’d be better if it was warm but it’s pretty good our next stop is some tacoyaki we stopped by this gorgeous little store just put away in the corner I was like I want some takoyaki so now we’re about to try it and just go right [Music] in guys look at this look at this guys that is that is hot but it’s so delicious oh my gosh I bit into it the flavors immediately just bursted in my mouth including the steam it was really hot I had to cool it down I was like but you could taste the squid and it’s not overpowering everything just Blends together really well this is delicious it is so soft I can’t even really pick it up for the Chopsticks but I feel like that’s good but I literally can’t pick it up it’s so soft let me try a different one okay I saw the way that Doan had steam coming out of his mouth so I got to be careful m m ooh ooh it keep it kept going it kept going I got one with the lemon pepper kind of sauce wow yeah it’s like it all compliments each other really nice it’s not I’m not a big fish person too so like the fact that everything just melts together it’s not too fishy is just right wow wow that takayaki was absolutely amazing my taste buds are ignited and they’re not done yet they’re ignited and ready for some more food and we are actually on Sashimi mja street so what better thing to eat next than mang I’ll be honest I have absolutely no idea what that is but you know when you’re on the street named after it you have to try it let’s go guys this is Caitlyn’s Whit side kicking in exploring things she doesn’t know do you know what it is I’m not you’re the one explor you’re the one taking me mhm so we’ received these steaming towels and I hope the intention is that we’re supposed to wipe our hands with them and I hope that we don’t look silly doing it because listen that’s what I’m doing [Music] I’m actually really excited to try this it’s nothing like I’ve ever seen before um basically you use this little spatula looking thing and you scoop it up put it on your plate and try some it looks [Music] amazing okay for reference we got pork and kimchi manga so you basically cooked everything first and then mix it all together over and over and there was some sort of sauce that he kind of poured in at the end and kind of made it all one cohesive dish oh everything tastes so good together it’s like a nice fresh kind of creamy ooh just exploding with flavor dish I love it after that delicious manga and it was delicious we are off to the next destination we we’re going to go over to Shinjuku which is one of those areas where it’s like the typical Bright Lights Billboards and it’s about to get dark here I think in about an hour so it’ll be perfect timing and I’m super [Music] excited Shinjuku here we come [Music] guys we have officially made it to Shinjuku this place is like New York but better and the reason why I say better is cuz I’m in love with Japanese culture there is literally music being blasted from the big Wild widecreen TV that they have all the way up there you walk to the right you walk down the alleyway you’re going to get a gorgeous shot of like different restaurants different places to go hang out I’m so excited to check this out I’m sure Caitlyn is too right baby yeah the whole atmosphere is my word of the day electric guys it is electric [Music] baby the whole area is so busy I’ll be honest this is exactly what comes to my mind when I think Tokyo and I know there is so much more but honestly this is exactly what I would expect and hence why I was so excited to come here and I’m so glad that we are just experien ing it just like all the Billboards and all the lights and just the fact that it’s getting dark and everything is so illuminated wow I love it okay so we were walking along the boulevard here and we walk across or come across the Dog Cafe and I don’t know about you guys but I love dogs they are my favorite things in the entire world and we also needed some drinks so you pay roughly $5 each you get unlimited drinks and you get to pet all the puppies for 10 minutes let’s [Music] go guys we went to this Sushi go round um restaurant where they have sushi on this belt and it just goes goes around with the prices and you pick up what you want and you just eat and Dive Right In This is my first time trying sushi in Japan ever so I’m so excited see how it tastes so Doan picked up this kind of tuna sashimi and I’m very excited it did happen to be the most expensive thing that we saw so far but hey I can’t complain it looks good it looks authentic tast fresh there’s like a kind of a hint of Wasabi in there I feel I don’t know if it’s from the soy sauce I put on or oh no it’s embedded in you can see you can see here there’s some Wasabi in there and I feel like the flavor melts in really well with the tuna it’s not too spicy real Wasabi which is amazing and the tuna is very soft tender I love it all right guys after walking around here in Shinjuku our time is coming to an end and it’s already nighttime overall our experience here has been amazing there’s so many things to do to see and one day is just definitely not enough Tokyo is yes an overhyped City in my opinion but at the same time it’s it’s overhyped for a reason because of the experience that you get coming here it is so unique you can’t get it anywhere else in the world Tokyo is magical and for my first impressions or our first impressions I love Tokyo we love Tokyo and we can’t wait to continue exploring the city and show you guys more in our Vlog that’s coming up so thank thank you so much for watching and don’t forget to
