Secret Kyoto: Dams, Fireflies & Epic Bike Rides

I go from Hikyo dam, into the lush, verdant mountains north of Kyoto, to Ono dam, 23km north, further into this enchanted escape.

The journey’s sights, scents, and vistas nourished my soul.

I’m heading north to uh Ono Dam so further into the hills heading north and uh yeah mostly if you go down the valley Basin is just kilometer after kilometer of these funny little Villages I feel super it’s so interesting just like circling around checking things out there’s the university back there Medical University with a little station next to it called um dakum which means in front of the university and in the convenience store just in front of the University they have a Little ma section Muji sorry Muji DUI for selling um kind of expensive stationer and then I saw like some super cheap little uh Apartments um and then outside the apartment there’s like um a few motorbikes really really big four-wheel drive vehicle I think it was a Toyota Helix so those people have decided to live and a che cheap apartment in the middle of nowhere and just have the vehicles to get around and yeah that’s interesting I saw this LLY lady on a scooter just uh going along quite slowly going back home probably it’s interesting to think that kind of like she lives here probably lived around here all of her life about 80 years old and for her this is normal like kind of really spering hot summers but a bit cooler in the mountains probably snow in the winters yeah I know it’s just kind of uh interesting no tobacco juice K literally everything you need he [Music] [Music]
