hi everyone welcome back to the channel Koto has been one of my favorite cities to visit and after 5 years I’m so excited to finally be back so come along as we ventes to some of Kyoto’s cultural landmarks and discover some new gumps together on my most recent trip to Japan it was pretty late by the time we arrived in Koto saw her first stop was Yaki niku this chiny little restaurant is located in the heart of poano with the cafe like Ambiance and is known for the kurog wagy beef tamari Sushi course you do have to make reservations in advance on their site but for7 700 Yen per person I thought this was pretty worth it it comes with multiple courses starting with a Pata with pruto and seasonal fruit along with a grilled Hera water salad with roast duck and Herb jelly which were all amazing the Highlight was definitely the assorted beef tamari Sushi side is torched right at the table to your preferred dness and each Sushi is dressed with different toppings that best compliments the specific cut of meat my favorite was the pestel and the plain salt one but honestly they were all amazing the course also ends with the best crule I’ve ever had for dessert as with most restaurants in Japan they do require you to order a drink per person but the prices for the drinks are quite reasonable highly recommend trying the honey lemon sour it’s so good and under 600 Yen not to mention the staff were super intentive and even gave us candy on our way out it started to rain after dinner so we made our way back to our hotel we did make a pit stop at this cute little ceramic shop down the BL from enn they had the cutest rabbit theme Ceramics and we could not hold ourselves back and boss some Chopstick holders just just look how cute they are anyways we got into a taxi and made our way back to our hotel the Kyoto umoji Kaiden show it’s about 10 to 15 minutes drive away from batono in the gon district and with the Yen being so weak right now I highly recommend taking a taxi one in Kyoto especially if you have a party of three or more it’ll save you a ton of time and it’s super easy especially if you use the go taxi app this is not sponsored by the app in any way but it was just so easy to use and eliminates the potential language barriers with the taxi drivers not to mention that I also kept giving us 500 coupons as new users which is always a plus okay back to the hotel k um Ki kiden show is owned by the same Hospitality Group as the onoy NoNo chains which has been all over social media the key difference here is that alongside the many freebies that’s offered to guests they also have five private baths for all guests to use each bath is a different theme and you can enjoy it by yourself or your family availability is based on first comfor serve and there are benches right outside each bath where you can wait for your turn in terms of freebies there’s an amenities and soft drinks bar free ice pops late night Ramen and Y Cults in the morning the room itself was also a lot more spacious than I thought everything you typically find in a hotel room is here there’s also other things you can rent in the front desk like hair irons Chargers Etc which made our stay here super convenient the hotel itself is also 1 minute walk from the nearest station so it’s super easy to get around if you prefer public transportation highly recommend checking this hotel out if you’re looking for a more vcan experience the next morning we headed out super early to kizu daa so that we can beat the crowds because over tourism in Japan is real and in my opinion Early Mornings in Japan is my favorite time of day it’s just so Serene and quiet by the time we finish getting our obligated pics we headed down to grab breakfast at one of my faves kosi Nora it’s a popular breakfast spot serving up Kyoto’s obanai which are mainly made with locally sourced produce there’s over 10 small dishes to choose from daily where you can build your own breakfast set they also offer miabi gos which includes 12 different small dishes and their famous ubon it is a little pricier than the DIY sets at 1800 Yen but you get to try a little bit of everything which in my opinion is totally worth it depending on a day each of these 12 dishes may change slightly but my favorite of the 12 would definitely have to be the simmered hii salad and this candy sweet potato I could binge these all day every day the star of the show however was definitely the yadon it’s a must try so comforting to eat and it’s just one of those meals that will instantly warm your soul please make sure to get this if you stop by the restaurant itself is spacious with plenty of seating and has a calming Ambiance so you can quietly enjoy a healthy and well balanced meal to start your day after fueling our stomachs we took a short walk to Mikan Shrine aka the money Shrine if you love money you do not want to miss this this is a pretty small Shrine but has garnered a lot of interest from both locals and tourists as it’s known to bring Good Fortune to your wallet not to mention they also have these super cute amulets that you can purchase unfortunately when when I went it was sold out but I did manage to snag a little Fortune slip and a charm to hopefully keep my wallet happy and speaking of shrines in the area if you have pets or just an animal lovers in general you’ll also want to stop by the buoi Temple they sell amulets intended to keep your fur baby safe and healthy as a pet owner of two I had to get some honestly if I could make them live as long as I do I buy a 100 of these all right it’s finally time for some cafes our first off was rokuan this Cafe is owned by the same Hospitality Group as ski on Duck noodle and gon duck rice but as unique in his own way as it’s situated in a historic Japanese style building previously owned by artist imal Koshi and dining here is an experience itself upon entering you received a quick tour of the house where you can get a glimpse of the artwork and craftsmanship that has been left behind we were super lucky and was seated at the perfect table with a garden View which you can actually go take pictures in we ordered a duck porridge and this beautiful Wabi Mochi the duck porridge was a simple but comforting dish and was presented beautifully along with the wateri Mochi which had edible flowers in it this Wabi Mochi is a bit more structured than most Wabi Mochis which I prefer and The Kino powder and syrup was the perfect compliment to the Moshi this is definitely a must try here we had no time to waste so as soon as we were done eating we were on to our next stop but we still made time for some ice cream at this is Sheen not only is this a gorgeous pla Nursery but they also serve the prettiest ice cream ever you do have the options to choose your own flavors but we just went with their seasonal one for spring and to my surprise it tastes just as good as it looks it’s not too sweet and was the right size to share between two people definitely recommend stopping by for a quick treat if you can after a quick little Indulgence we headed over to Zen kaso in for their beautiful spring parfait this cute little cafe is just a few blocks away from the Nel castle and as their name suggest it’s super Zen and a great place to unwind they have a wide menu of sweets and for the Sakura season they launched the cutest parfait and strawberry am meitu the parfait consists of a pink CC candy dressed which sakur Shake mering one drizzled with their housemade strawberry sauce you’ll find layers of goodies ranging from shatas ice cream cake cuml Sakura jellies and more and the strawberry yitu was just as phenomenal with red bean arar jelly and ice cream you can also get their Sakura soda which came with their own Sakura pet and jelly that perfectly compliments the dessert there’s also a gift shop right next to the cafe so you can bring back some souvenirs they do have seasonal desserts and parfaits each season so definitely make sure to stop by even if you miss this one I personally would stop by again for the grill Dongo experience in the fall speaking of experiences the next stop on a trip is a tea Omas at TAA Takahashi store I absolutely love tea so I knew I had to try this out this is reservations only in quite an intimate setting they’re both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options with five courses each tea is complimented with the small dessert that highlights the tea that’s being served the menu changes monthly so what I had will change depending on the month you go we did get the non-alcoholic tasting and honestly enjoy some pairings more than others everything from chees Brewing to dining and overall presentation was served with intention and overall this is more of a performative experience so don’t expect to be able to sit and catch up with your friends as the atmosphere does get very quiet throughout the process which makes it a great place to escape the hustle and bust of Kyo but just keep in mind that this does take up a bit of time due to its performative nature after an afternoon filled with tea and desserts we headed back to patano for an early dinner at yuzen tiny little restaurant specializes in everything Yuzu with their signature being their Yuzu Naes we got the popular prawn and seam na which came with a bunch of veggies and a refreshing Yuzu Dash broth you can also order additional add-ons like chicken and pork but we have try some of their appetizers instead we try both the green and yellow yuzuka which you can get steamed or pan fried and because I’m nosy I of course try both Styles I have to say although the GZA looks cute Steed the panire version truly brings out the best of them if I had to choose one I’d recommend the classic yellow GZA anyways back to the na this is definitely something to eat slowly because it gets so much more flavorful as the fish and fresh juu simmers in the broth we ended up ordering a portion of rice and eggs to make a resoto out of the ring broth and I highly recommend doing so it was such a comforting way to end the meal we did make reservation in advance via the website but they also accept walk-ins if you stop by don’t forget to give their USU drinks a try and of course it won’t be a visit to Japan without some late night Ramen Mana Yuko is a cozy little Ramen Shop shop known for the rich show you broth despite being such a small shop their portions were huge if you love your Ramen broth packs with richness and flavor the Kyoto black Ramen is a must get it has a rich soyu broth and is super hearty when paired with a thick cut of chashu though if you prefer a lighter broth like myself the KY Ramen is a good one to start it has clamu base with the lighter flavor still filled with Umami not to mention the noodles were perfectly springy and chewy just the way I like my Ramen on our final morning kyodo we shipped our luggages out and head us straight to arashiyama because we had reservations at the famous arashiyama isuki Chay but before indulging we paid a quick visit to the mikami shrine nestled within the arama bamboo forest because this is the only hair Shrine in Japan and its deity is set to be the founder of Japanese hairdressers so many existing inspiring hairdressers come to visit the shrine to ensure a smooth career but it said that normal people who wish to have long luxurious hair also stops by to pay a visit because who doesn’t love good hair right it’s a relatively small Shrine but doesn’t hurt to pay a visit especially if you’re visiting the bamboo forest anyways after a quick little Excursion we finally headed over to grab breakfast at arama isuki Chay it’s right next to the river so you guys to enjoy your meal with the Riverside view it was also my birthday so they prepared my meal with a special birthday setting it’s really the small detention to details that makes me love being in this city the preset seasonal meal was phenomenal the set changes seasonally and highlights ingredients Harvest within that season everything was delicious especially their Signature Golden Egg Rice Bowl it’s so flavorful this place is definitely worth the extra effort to book in advance and I highly recommend booking the Riverside view if you can we ended our breakfast with the quick stroll back the tokitsu K bridge where a lot of the souvenir shops and cafes are we ended up stopping by the famous kumoa cafe because I just cannot leave Kyoto without trying their Super Famous C cake and to my surprise the cake was not as bad as I Imaging considering how hyped up it’s gone over the years but I do wish I tried their seasonal cloud cake instead of the traditional one the cafe itself was super spacious it was a great place to get away from crowds and rest UPS so definitely consider checking out this location instead of the other ones in gon and unfortunately it was finally time for us to say Good by Kyoto but before I go I have to share with you all this amazing meni KATU spot that we stumble upon on our way back to the train station honestly it’s not really stumbling since there was such a huge line but I’m so glad we saw the line because nakamuraya isn’t just a meat shop they serve some of the best croquetes and Men catus this beef and pork costum was so perfectly crispy and juicy on the inside I’m usually not a katsu a c person but this is a must try I really wish we had room in our stomachs to get more anyways there’s just so many different things to do and eating Kyoto that I wish we had more time to explore but I’m sure I’ll be back soon I hope this video was helpful and please let me know in the comments below your experience if you’ve visited any of these places or if there’s anything else I should check out thank you so much for watching and make sure to like And subscribe to my channel because more Japan content is coming very soon for
