hello Japan we’ve arrived look at this scallop just look at the size of this shell alone food lovers Rejoice we’re at the skije outer Fish Market here in Tokyo where all sorts of delicious street food awaits in this extreme culinary tour I’m going to introduce you to some of the Hidden street food gems through the vibrant Alleyways and streets so lace up your shoes let’s go [Music] first on tap first on menu welli power breakfast a the giji market it’s not just about fish but in this case here’s our power breakfast it’s organs innards over a miso based stew setting on top a bowl of rice warmth morning Aroma just what you need to start your day this is a legendary stall a little hole on the wall place with the anti there laboring over a colder of Stew serving up these innards organs jiggly pieces now if you’re put off by innards and organs don’t be they’re so tasty so creamy so delicate in your mouth oh just look at that a oh yeah the day starting off well here at this giji Market you can’t miss [Music] this okay perfect start let’s go look at that fresh seafood coming and going to the Stalls to the restaurants here at the market previously home to the skii fish market auction the inner Market It’s s relocated but still here you have so many stalls selling up the best and freshest Seafood around 65 stalls in total and you can find what you need if you just roam around walking through here you see the Sashimi you smell the tempura the workers busily preparing their stalls for the day there’s street food there are restaurants there’s various stalls selling Kitchen products like Japanese knives oh this has to be the biggest oyer I’ve ever seen look at the size of this big meaty juicy this is not a one biter this is a one or two three slurp suck I don’t know how I’m going to approach this just look at the size of this shell alone big barely fits in my hand here we go we’re going for it oh biting right into it you taste the sea it’s not overpowering not too salty chewy buttery consistency jelly [Music] like this is the biggest oyer I’ve ever eaten and we’re here at the ski Market coming from the sea right to this stand here today into my mouth o oyster brightness got and here we are right here here the sea urchin spiky on the outside golden on the inside the meat right there smooth consistency like melted chocolate but 10 times better now the Auntie added a little bit of Wasabi on the side here we go Wasabi on the side adds a bit of a kick the price on that goodness 1,500 Yen for the sea urchin and the rest well3 00 that we paid for that giant oyster that oyster just reminded me how simple yet Delicious Japanese Cuisine can be just a little bit of seasoning not too much spice in fact Japanese Cuisine hardly ever has spice any spice kick they add in the Wasabi it’s just simple clean delicious greatness now we’re walking through parts of what used to be the inner skii Market before was relocated in 2018 it had around 400 different varieties of fish and fresh seafood and at that point it was the largest wholesale in fresh fish vendor in the entire world now I want to take you somewhere that’s a little bit off the beaten path [Music] if there’s a sushi Heaven I think we found it in there the uncle paing the sushi at the little bar right there and you know it’s fresh right from the skije market brought there Kiwa brought right there prepared put on the table a big massive plate so colorful every fish in the rainbow I saved some of that tuna fatty belly for the last bit so buttery and soft on your tongue I couldn’t do any vlogging in there it was so quiet like you find everywhere in Japan so respectful I just sat there and I enjoyed the delicious sushi the preparation the love the care that you can only find in a little place like this hello Japan we’ve arrived it was bite after bite of enjoyment just huge chunks of rice that were feeling me up but I wanted to continue because on top we the thick cut slabs of fish so delicious with every little bite if you guys are enjoying all this food content and loving it like I’m loving it please give this video a thumbs up also if you haven’t yet subscribed tickle that subscribe button down below join the community follow along with all the videos ah I just had to take a quick little black Boss Coffee Break here at the Lawson convenience store because we got so much food action happening and there’s still more to come so off we go okay host War the skii market played its role in the economic and cultural recovery of this nation of Japan it became a hub a place where all the restaurant owners and the locals would get their fish either for their restaurants or for their homes a cultural center and also over the years it began to grow as a place for tourists to come an attraction when here visiting in Tokyo even without the inner Market no longer here the outer Market this part here continues to thrive and Thrive very well with so much action we’re here on a Monday and this place is Ram jammed everybody getting their street food and enjoying the day that e yeah it’s e a may have uh one one this is E from the grill on a stick now ill can be an expensive fish but having it this way on a stick oh buttery soft melts in your mouth on the outside you can see that Terra sauce darkened as it was grilled this was 400 Yen prepared to Perfection and great little street food to enjoy here in the market uh one scallop yeah scallop okay torched and scorched torched and scorched look at this scallop cut grilled scorched torched seasoned with a little bit of garlic W this is beautiful just raw and roasted only the slightest bit of flavoring sweet scallop and I love the way he prepared it too popped off the top torched the bottom torched the top got a good boil good simmer going on now simple seasoning not overdone just toasted and roasted perfectly it’s a chewy warm meat now as you can see the skii market gets truly pack Ram Jam you just got to Elbow your way in find the food you want order it and get down to business for a little bit of that scallop greatness street food food well that was 1,500 yen ski Market it’s good good I’m getting one I just got to wait in that long line too sweet sweet okay this is the tomago the sweet Japanese omelet there are about five of these stalls selling these things here in the Suzuki Market it’s a bit kind of too sweet for my liking but this food is very instagrammable one of the most popular stalls in the entire Market I suggest you get one find a couple lanterns or some great Alleyways snap a few photos of this yeah it’s eggy it’s Amy but for me it’s a bit too much on the sweet side but getting food like this sharing the moments with your friends here in the skii market for me that’s what it’s all about a culinary experience behind me it’s the namii shrine thought to offer protection and prosperity to the Fishers and to the market by the way I’m putting out regular email newsletter with all sorts of travel tips and hacks like this information here there’s a link to sign up downstairs and if you want to know how I survived eating raw chicken Sashimi in Tokyo watch this
