Japanese Food

Is this Japanese coffee expired?

I think it’s expired, but I’m not sure. Unlike this one, the expiration date for the Suntory coffee can is more straightforward with its expiration display. Maybe it’s super obvious, and it expired January 23rd, 2024. The store I bought it from has complaints about carrying expired products so it could definitely be expired. 😅

    probably

but expiration dates are more like suggestions. Should be okay to drink as long as it doesn’t taste funny. If it were meat it would be a different story

r/YouShouldKnow that food doesn’t have expiration date. Bacteria do not operate on a calendar. When food goes bad depends on a variety of factors, including weather, storage temperature, whether it sat outside during transit, whether it’s been opened, any cross-contamination, etc. Passage of time is just one of the many factors.

Food has sell-by dates, best-by dates, etc, but not expiration dates. The printed dates are more for the benefit of shops to help them rotate their stock.

Sorry, with that out of the way, this is fine. It’s sealed in an unopened can with no sugar or dairy.
