Initially established to appease the gods during a time of plague, it has since grown into a grand celebration featuring elaborate parades, traditional music, and cultural displays. Centered around Yasaka Shrine, the festival showcases Kyoto’s rich history and communal spirit.

[Music] hey everyone adding experience I just had at the gon MSI in Kyoto Japan party popper this Festival is one of the most famous and oldest in Japan dating back over a thousand years it’s held throughout the month of July and the entire city of Kyoto comes alive with excitement one of the highlights was the yab boo junko parade I saw these incredible towering floats called yab boo beautifully decorated with intricate tapestries and carvings the craftsmanship is truly something to behold you can feel the you can feel the history and tradition in every detail another Unforgettable part was Yama the evenings leading up to the main parade the streets were lined with food stalls traditional games and people dressed in beautiful Yukata the atmosphere was electric A Perfect Blend of modern fun and traditional charm cherry blossom I also visited usaka Shrine which is at the heart of the festival it’s a place of deep cultural and religious significance and it was fascinating to see how the locals integrate their spirituality with the celebration if you ever get the chance to be in Kyoto in July don’t miss the gon mystery it’s a vibrant living piece of Japanese culture and history Japan Sparkles thanks for listening I hope you get to experience this incredible Festival someday talk to you [Music] soon [Music] e e [Music] see
