Welcome back to another one! Today I’m having Korean BBQ for lunch This is the famous Jojoen restaurant. A franchise in Japan It’s a little on the pricey side but well worth it As with most Korean BBQ restaurants, a bib is provided Why not kick things off with a nice glass of stout! Here we go! We got a spicy and sweet sauce on the far left with lemon, then a salty and sweet sauce, and finally a kind of onion and garlic sauce on the right Got some rice action, and the first servings of beef So here we have some top fillet. Also known as fillet mignon I think beef loin ribs baby! ribs And finally some beef tongue Now let’s get cookin! Starting with the tongue. You don’t sell the steak. You sell the sizzle Ain’t that the truth Some beautiful grill marks. Very satisfying Nice and tender Let’s start with the sweet and spicy sauce Beautifully cooked. You have to make sure not to overcook these fine pieces of meat Nice and juicy. Such a succulent piece of meat Sweet and salty Now that’s the way to go Korean seaweed soup A blend of umami, salt, garlic, ginger flavors. Delightful! Time for some ribs baby! Got to love that sound Let’s dig in Falls apart so easily. A taste of heaven Korean cold noodles. Fantastic dish especially in summer. Noodles are made from buckwheat, potato starch, and wheat flour Nice and chewy Now some top loin Very thin so maybe about 30-40 seconds a side. Have to keep your eye on it. Have to be careful not to break it up Poor guy looks so lonely Some people don’t like having to cook their own food at a restaurant Like Bill Murray in Lost in Translation But I rather enjoy it. I think it makes the food taste better knowing it was cooked with my blood sweat and tears I wish you could smell this And now for the cold noodles Broth is made from beef broth and radish water kimchi That was a piece of melon I just ate Super refreshing but very mild in taste I’ll add some of this hot sauce and vinegar to give it some kick Final bite So if you want to treat yourself to a fantastic meal and you’re willing to spend a few bucks, treat yourself to Jojoen.
