I am practically a non-spiritual human being, and yet I too am forced to acknowledge some sense of the mystical when I travel in Japan. I have no real connection to this land, but sometimes at a particular shrine or an isolated place in the mountains I find myself suddenly struck by the weight of history, as though thousands of years worth of human emotion and experience somehow saturated a physical location. Please feel free to dismiss this as an individual’s mental illness.

Really nice framing in the pics you shared. The second and last one are my favorite!
