Neow YouTube I’ve been practicing  my mangerine Chinese and I decided   to put that to the test for the intro  of this video so I hope you [Music] [Music] enjoy [Music] actually in China and we’re getting on the  historic loal Mountain Railway to thanu this  

Is like almost a Mountain Village in Taiwan  to come along with me it should be really   interesting to see what this is going to be  like let’s have fun be right beside me let’s

[Music] go okay so we just got to outside of  the station so we’re in Car 2 and I’m in seat   24 and Matt behind the camera he’s in seat 25  or 23 I believe 22 22 but I just want to show  

You guys something funny it translates here to  Ming the Gap not mine the Gap it’s Ming the Gap   so one thing I found kind of funny was this  bent Railway to to stop the train in case the  

Brakes don’t work so you could just imagine if  the train was going full speed he had to go up   normally they put a whole heap of of um like wood  like [Music] sleepers okay so our train has just  

Arrived Car 2 seat 24 let’s find this [Music]  near okay so first impressions of the train so   far so good really good facilities obviously  it’s a little bit older but it’s lovely got   good AC we’ve got a drinking storage rack we’ve  got uh storage in front of us we also have bag  

Storage as well and over the head storage too  behind us you can see we’ve got a single seat   but also two seats as well so if you’re single  and you want to sit and look out the window and  

You don’t have to sit next to anyone then that’s  your seat right there overall the seats are very   comfortable as well and there’s a toilet on every  single car as well and there’s massive big window   Windows everywhere so we’ll be able to see  all the scenic views as [Applause] [Music]

Well okay so the ticket collector’s coming  around now to look without tickets I always   get nervous with this I don’t know why I know  that my tickets right but the back of my mind   always thinks I probably stuff something up so  we’ve just stopped off here at this uh station  

I believe we’re almost halfway now but it’s  really good this whole Carriage here isn’t   even full just now we’re about to go up the hill  climb to get to the top of the mountain and a  

Lot of trains offload here uh because it’s very  heavy to climb up to the mountain on the trains you might be wondering what are these blue  bags on these trees they’re actually covering   the bananas from fruit flies so believe it or  not behind us is actually a locomotive that is  

Pushing us up the hill so that’s to give us  extra power and in case any of the carriages   disconnect they’re not going to fall down the  hill so you can see here this is actually the  

Main road that hooks up and runs along the train  line yeah so people drive up here and also up the   hill through the mountain depending on what you  want to [Music] do so we’re now at an elevation  

Of 1,000 m okay so welcome to fenu Village  and station we are now 1,400 m in elevation   absolutely amazing amazing trip as you can  see here from the uh from the forest it’s   actually changed to more pine trees rather than  banana leaves and really tropical plants it’s a  

Lot more uh colder up here too I believe  it’s 22° whereas when we were down there   in the city it was about 32° Celsius I’m  looking forward to exploring this Village   should be cool this train station looks really  modern but the village is where it’s [Music]

At so uh we’re just walking through this local  market now I’ve never seen that fruit before   apparently it’s tree tomatoes so yeah this  Market here sells sells uh everything all   different Chinese snacks and food and everything  it’s really really cool a lot of pretty much  

Whenever I go into a Chinese market I don’t  know anything so it’s being sold it’s all so   different so I uh just needed to use the bathroom  then and uh these vendors were selling something   but it’s their house as well and I asked if I  could use their toilet yeah I don’t normally  

Do that but went into someone’s house and used  their toilet so thank you to that lovely [Music] couple so as you can see here there’s no one here  so when you’re traveling don’t be as sheep don’t   follow the crowd just go and explore the cool  places like look look at this little village  

House here absolutely beautiful covered in Vines  made out of wood stunning isn’t [Applause] it it’s   already so quiet up here can actually hear myself  think no no so yeah you do get that uh that guy  

Was not happy me filming which is understandable  um you know the train line does come up here and   his peaceful life has probably changed but  he didn’t have to scream no gosh he could   have just said you know sorry no filming being  nice anyway he’s an old man so it’s [Applause] okay

So gosh look at this the amazing  Moss trees wow it’s so peaceful too   I needed this guys wooden Boardwalk  lovely Sun pine trees tropical trees   as well nice mixture it’s not  too hot not too cold it’s good [Applause] good This is just beautiful we’re the only ones on the  trail absolutely amazing there’s moss rocks down   here as well stunning see guys this is why it’s  so important to travel especially off the and path   don’t follow everyone that’s that’s the way to  have the most General experience this experience  

Here unique so we just came across this old front  of a truck just here you can see the tires and the   door and the um in the rear Vision mirror just  overgrown into the forest I almost didn’t see it crazy

So we’ve now came back into the little village  here so the tourism here is quite good for the   locals it’s giving them a source of income  I’d say before the train line was built   they uh were primarily in farming um but now  it’s a bit easier to open up little souvenir  

Shops or Cafe like this and you know earn  a very good income a lot of the fruit and   stuff I would say would be grown here for  example we’ve got this tomato as well uh   what what is this Shang like lemon oh oh okay  cool and even they’ve got bell peppers here

Too oh okay yeah they grow most of their  uice here and I guess everything else is   going to have to be imported on the train  but they can get cars here so probably on   the cars as well I should mention that yeah  very very lovely little local Village niow  

So believe it or not they actually have a  church here in this Mountain Village which   I’m really shocked with I know that there’s  a lot of toist religion here in Taiwan but   I didn’t know that there was churches so let’s  go in see if we can go inside and see what it’s about

This church unfortunately it’s locked but uh  I’ll try and show you guys in here through   the fly screen you can see the seats here the  front of it as well really lovely Church nice   and old I’d love to come here on a Sunday  and go to a service you know as I always  

Say on this channel we show churches mosques  Hindu temples Buddhist temples I’ve had a lot   of comments before people about getting angry  particularly actually I won’t name names but   like you know if I go to a certain religious  place and you don’t agree with that religion  

Then don’t write it in the comments you know I  go to your religion too so just calm down okay   I will say that yeah this place is really  beautiful really really stunning there’s no   one around I’d love to talk to someone to uh  see if we could go inside but oh wow there’s  

A little school here I believe that this is  a school guys I’m not sure there’s all little   flipflops out the front Arnold just sand house  maybe it’s a boarding house for our children I’m   not too sure there’s no one here guys it’s so  quiet it’s crazy beautiful view though [Music]

Amazing so now we’re just walking through little  Alleyway I have no idea where it leads but I’d   see I don’t know if I meant to go this way W  little Boardwalk here it’s what traveling is   all about off the beaten path probably  going to go and find some food soon I’m  

A little bit hungry oh yeah this leads to  a car park all good so I’ve got my um you   call these bino boxes Bento Bento so I’ve  got my Bento bento box here not boo Bento   uh and yeah 110 dollars Taiwanese dollars  I should say and wow check this out wow oh  

Smells so good too we’ve got veggies chicken  different bits of egg so good let’s dig in two I tell you what the food here in Taiwan is  so delicious something to do with their spices   and how they marinate things is amazing even  the 7-Eleven and family Mark dishes always so  

So good anyway we’re going to dig into this fill  up we’ve been working very hard and then uh yeah   I’ll see you guys after so we’ve got a little cat  here so we going to feed it some fish here puss

P it’s always so important to spare something  for the animals here it’s so [Music] cute okay so we just finished our lunch back  there now we’re going to go up towards the   station and actually climb up a little bit and  see some more rural village houses I also believe  

There’s a massive giant tree as well that’s  really famous here so we’re going and check   that [Music] out behind me is actually a statue of  two big feet that wind up into two hands [Music]

Holding so right now I’m just walking up to what I  think is is the giant tree the signs were a little   bit confusing but uh there’s definitely  a Viewpoint up here so I’ll show you guys [Music] that I can honestly see why there’s  no one else on this Trail elevation really  

High altitude hard to breathe I’m  sweating going to be worth it though so I don’t know if you can see them but some  people just walk past I said niow and then I   realized that they were Korean oops sometimes  that happens okay after all that climbing we’ve  

Done it here she is beautiful [Music] moments  like this no one around surrounded by bamboo   in the Green Forest yeah guys this is this is  awesome so blessed to be able to have this as  

My job to be able to share the world with you guys  and I know that some of you out there can’t travel   don’t have the means to travel have family don’t  have the money or simply just saving for that  

Next trip I’m so glad that I’m able to have  this opportunity to share my travels with you   guys because yeah the world is big and wide and  beautiful and I’m getting to see a lot sometimes  

I forget but in moments like this where there’s  no one here you really do take it in I wish my   girlfriend was here with me she’s still in Nepal  at the moment but uh she’ll be coming on future

Trips so I made it up to the Viewpoint I think  that’s my train down there I’m not too sure but   doesn’t leave for another 40 minutes or so so we  should be fine lovely little area up here to go up  

To the uh to the tree now so this guy here bit  of a shame isn’t it you’re in a mountain rural   Village and you go up to uh play on two different  phones he had two phones in his hand and he was  

Just playing games if you’re going to come and  4 look up this is where the real stuff is not   in the games I don’t know maybe I’m wrong don’t  listen to me I’m just some guy on the internet
